Abstract

Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) shows promise as a serum marker that complements CA125 in the early detection of epithelial ovarian cancer, either as a first-line screen or as a second-line screen in a multimodal strategy. Incorporation of symptoms in a screening strategy that includes CA125 and HE4 may warrant further research. © The Author 2011.
