Abstract

We have more chances to communicate via the internet. We often use text/video chat, but there are some problems, such as a lack of communication and anonymity. In this paper,we propose and implement a real-time talking avatar, where wecan communicate with each other by synchronizing character’svoice and motion from ours while keeping anonymity by using avoice conversion technique. For the voice conversion, we improveaccuracy of the voice conversion by specializing to the targetcharacter’s voice. Finally, we conduct subjective experiments andshow the possibility of a new style of communication on theinternet.Index Terms—Talking avatar; Voice conversion; Kinect; Internet;Real-time communication
