Abstract
A series of some new disperse-reactive dyes was synthesized by diazo-coupling reaction of 2-amino-4-phenylthiazole derivatives with pyridone, the disperse dyes thus obtained were refluxed with phosphorus oxychloride to obtain the disperse-reactive dyes. The dyes were characterized by IR spectral studies and visible absorption was carried out in various solvents. The dyeing performance of these dyes where assessed on polyester, nylon and polyester/cotton blend fabrics. These dyes where found to give various shades of red with good depth, brightness and leveling properties on the fabrics. The dyed fabric showed fairly good to very good light fastness and very good to excellent fastness to washing, perspiration and rubbing. The dyebath exhaustion and fixation on the polyester fabric was found to be very good.
