Abstract

The aim was to study the inhibition of HRP enzyme by Cd, Pb and Cu, a phenomenon that can be used for their indirect detn. Kinetic studies were done to det. the nature of enzyme inhibition (whether it is reversible or irreversible and if reversible whether it is competitive or noncompetitive). The apparent Michaelis-Menten const. as well as max. current values in the absence and the presence of metal inhibitor were studied. The developed biosensor was applied for detn. of the Cd, Pb and Cu in tap water and landfill leachate. [on SciFinder(R)]
