Abstract

The quantum theory of a radiation field in an infinite dielectric medium is extended to include dispersion. The y in terms of the theory both for the case that the medium is at rest and the electron moving and for the case that the electron is at rest and the medium moving. In each case the results agree closely with those of corresponding classical treatment. © 1949 The American Physical Society.
