Abstract

There is a great deal of interest in finding new synthetic routes to prepare nano-crystallites. This paper reports in situ preparation of CdSe nanoparticles using poly (vinyl alcohol) [PVA] as matrix by using chemical route. XRD analysis revealed that CdSe-PVA nano- composite with a small size and narrow size distribution were obtained. The XRD studies show the formation of hexagonal CdSe/PVA particles with an average size of 11nm. Photoluminescence properties of CdSe/PVA with varying polymer concentration are reported. The PL peak was observed at 510 nm in photoluminescence spectrum. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
