Abstract
Many physician civic engagement efforts have effectively and appropriately focused on improving physician voter registration and turnout. As we see improvement in these areas for physicians, it is critical not to lose sight of the importance of continued civic engagement, even between elections. Just as we would not discharge a patient without a follow-up plan for continued management, we must consider our vote an initial intervention that requires continued monitoring.
