Abstract
Polystyrene terminated with carboxyl group was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), and the carboxylic acid terminated PS(PS-COOH) was functionalized by reacting with 4-aminoacetophenone and obtained the ketone methylene-terminated polystyrene. Rod-coil block copolymers of poly(phenylquinoline)-b-polystyrene(PPQ-b-PS) was synthesized by copolymerization of 5-acetyl-2-aminobenzophenone with the functionalized polystyrene by P2O5 catalyst. The structure of PPQ-b-PS diblock copolymers were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR. And thermostabilities were studied. The results show that the first decompostion temperature of PPQ-b-PS is 275°C in the air. The mass of PPQ-b-PEG reduces 12.5% at 275°C-400°C. It reduces rapidly at 400°C-600°C. The first decompostion temperature of PPQ-b-PS was 325°C in Ar. The thermostability of PPQ-b-PS is high.
