Abstract

The following work intends to show how Classicism and Hellenism are articulated in the 18th century German aesthetics. Winckelmann's works will be considered as a foundation to German Hellenism and Classicism in the last decade of that century, which was based on the imitation of the ideal of beauty in Greek art.
