Abstract

Ant colonies are more and more used to solve various optimization problems, such as scheduling problems. In practice, it is often necessary to take into account several objectives in the optimization procedure. In this respect, ant colonies algorithms have to be adapted to be able to find a set of good solutions that cover in the best way the various regions of the Pareto front. In the following, we suggest an approach that can be used to address optimization problems with a few objectives. We will focus on visibility and desirability issues to favour diversity of solutions in the Pareto front. Further research direction will also be highlighted. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
