Abstract

In order to gain the change trend of mechanical properties of solid expandable tube, an experimental study has been conducted for solid expandable tubular of φ139.7 mm×7.72 mm N80 on a full-scale test-rig. Based on an expansion evaluation device designed by TGRC, the test scheme and the inspection method have been designed. A comparative analysis of the change of mechanical properties, microstructure and collapse resistance of solid expandable tubular before and after expansion have been conducted. The results showed that the mechanical properties were significantly changed after expansion. The results showed that the mechanical properties and the collapse resistance were significantly changed after expansion, but the microstructure did not change obviously.
