Abstract
Certain ruthenium complexes are potent catalysts for atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) and cyclization (ATRC) reactions, in particular if they are used in conjunction with reducing agents such as magnesium. This short overview summarizes recent developments in this area with special focus on contributions from our laboratory. © Schweizerische Chemische Gesellschaft.
