Abstract

Through increasing production of rubber tire, waste rubber materials growing over time. Such massive waste dumps add to the deterioration of the ecosystem. In order to minimize adverse impacts, environmentally friendly substitutes are necessary. In recent decades, research has been on the reuse of these materials in several alternatives; however, major outputs in the construction material industries remain discouraging. The main focus of this research is to examine the reuse of crumb rubber in cement mortar. Several literatures were documented, and the results showed that crumb rubber mortar has long-term durability performance. Inconsistencies in the material properties of crumb rubber mortar have been observed in these studies but studies concluded that CRM can be used as construction material in harsh environment.
