Abstract

Discipline is one of the character values that need to be instilled in children from an early age. The family plays an important role in shaping the character of the child, but the problem of parents who are busy working has resulted in the development of children in the family environment being less than optimal. The busy factor does not make parents hands off, various efforts are taken, one of which is choosing the best educational environment. Islamic boarding schools offer a place to instill discipline by applying religious values so that nowadays parents are interested in enrolling their children in Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study was to explore information about the strategy of instilling disciplined character and its impact on the discipline of students aged 5-6 years at the Pondok Tahfidh Putri Anak-anak Yanaabii'ul Qur'an Kudus. This research is a type of phenomenological qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Informants which is used as data sources in this study is female students aged 5-6 years, totaling 26 children. The technique of taking research subjects was done by purposive sampling technique. The writer uses indepth interview, non-participant observation, and documentation to collect the data. The validity of the data which is used is triangulation of sources and techniques. The data analysis technique which is used consists of four stages, namely data collection, data condensation, data display, and verification.. The results of the study indicate that the strategy of PTPA Yanaabii'ul Qur'an in instilling character in the form of time discipline, discipline in enforcing rules, and discipline when acting. The impact is marked by the emergence of the disciplined character of students aged 5-6 years, namely every student activity is on time, can estimate the time to get things done, use objects according to their functions, take and return objects to their place, obey the agree rules, be patient and orderly waiting for their turn, and have sensitivity if not disciplined..
