Abstract

ABSTRACT The present research study called “Beliefs affect organizational commitment and job satisfaction. A model of structural equations”. The objective is to analyze the effect of organizational beliefs (variable of organizational culture) on the variables: organizational commitment and job satisfaction, in a private company in Chile. Two hypotheses emerge from the study, hypothesis 1, organizational beliefs positively affect job satisfaction and hypothesis 2, organizational beliefs positively affect organizational commitment. The variables under study are important to improve management in the organization such as performance levels, productivity and levels of absenteeism, quality of life of the employee and staff turnover. The research was causal through structural equations, its research design is non-experimental and transversal. For the study, an instrument was applied with three validated surveys to 101 officials. Data analysis gave reliability coefficients (Conbrach's Alpha) between acceptable and excellent. The structural equations provided an estimated model that presented two causalities with a positive sign between the beliefs and the variables Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment. These effects were explained between 64% and 47% respectively. It can be concluded that the estimated model had good properties that reflect an acceptable fit, indicating that they are reliable for the representation of these particular phenomena. Then both hypotheses are accepted.
