Abstract

The article presents a research on methods for creating a well-optimized and visible Web site. The research identifies and implements ways for improving Web site visibility to search engines. A survey was conducted that highlighted Web site elements which could affect its visibility. An e-commerce based Web site was selected for determining if any elements were missing. The chosen site was evaluated by using a Web site inspection tool. Researchers then analyzed the results and made several changes, including meta tags, graphics, JavaScript, frames and TITLE tags without modifying the layout of the Web site. The Web site was inspected again by using the Web site inspection tool and results were compared. Areas affected by the tool were meta tags, frames, graphics descriptions, JavaScript and a site map. The researchers concluded that a Web site can easily be optimized for visibility.
