Abstract

Stunting occurs due to chronic malnutrition in the first 1000 days of life which results in impaired child development According to WHO, efforts to prevent stunting can be started from preconception, women of childbearing age can begin to be given knowledge and understanding of the importance of fulfilling nutritional intake before pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling with animated stunting prevention media on the knowledge and attitudes of the prospective bride and groom. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method, with a One-group pre-post test design. The research was conducted at the Patampanua religious affairs office and religious affairs osffice Lembang, Pinrang Regency, when the research was carried out in December 2020-January 2021. Sampling was carried out using total sampling of 47 respondents. The results of this study state that the knowledge of the Respondents after giving counseling on prevention of stunting with animation media for the pre-test was 8.62 while the post-test results had increased, namely 13.38. Respondents' attitudes after giving counseling on prevention of stunting with animation media for the pre-test was 20.68, while for the post-test results there was an increase of 31.60. Conclusion There is an effect of counseling with animated stunting prevention media on the knowledge and attitudes of the bride and groom with a value of P = 0.000).
