Abstract
Along with the current challenges of the broadcasting world, RTM, through its digital-based broadcasting services, leverages over-the-top media service (OTT) technology for maximum audience reach. This study selected a new medium of OTT as a result of innovation from the combination of internet and television, RTMKlik to assess the impact of motivation and physical access on the digital skills of OTT media users of public broadcasting in Malaysia. This study is also to meet the information needs and current trends of RTM's audience and loyal listeners. With the increase of unlimited fixed broadband and mobile access, it has increased the growth and competition of OTT media for audiences. Accordingly, through the results of this study, it was able to identify the first-level digitalization gap in terms of motivation and physical access to the digital skills of OTT RTMKlik media users. The study uses Digital Gap Theory, Quantitative method through online questionnaire is used to get feedback. Data to be collected and analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 to obtain descriptive and invasive analysis. The results showed that the influence of the digitalization gap studied reached a strong positive significant level at the p=0001 value with the digital skills of public broadcasting OTT media users. Through regression analysis proves that the influence of the digitalization gap contributes 62.1% to digital skills to affects learning variables.
