Abstract

Sinden is an artistic practice in the field of singing that focuses on traditional songs, one of which is Sundanese kawih. Sinden has a very attached stereotype of a negative connotation as a seductive woman. In this case, the research focuses on the views of a female sinden actor regarding the development and response of society in the social sphere to sinden as a woman. This study aims to look at the current society's views on the practice of sinden, especially in Sundanese land. The research approach used is qualitative with exploratory descriptive method by describing the results of data analysis that has been obtained in the field. Collecting data through interviews and literature studies to strengthen the data and research results. The results found that currently the negative view of sinden is shifting towards a high view and appreciation from the community. People's assessments that are currently developing are more concerned with the quality and abilities of sinden, not personally. As well as the emergence and support of the world of art education for sinden is getting wider. So that the stereotype of women who have bad grades has faded.
