PERBEDAAN PERGERAKAN ANGIN PADA MUSIM HUJAN DAN MUSIM KEMARAU DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP DISPERSI PENCEMAR UDARA DI KOTA SURABAYA

Abstract

Atmospheric dynamics is a major factor that must be considered in the studies of air pollution. Atmospheric conditions of a region will affect the distribution of air pollutants in that region. Surabaya City has a unique topography where in the western and southern regions are sloping hilly areas while in the north and east are waterfront areas. Geographical conditions of Surabaya City which is laid by the north sea shore of East Java Province will lead to the influence of local winds such as land and sea breeze. By conducting a study of the movement of the wind, then the patterns of air movement in the Surabaya City and its effect on air pollutants emitted from various sources in the Surabaya City will be know. To study the pattern of air movement, WRF meso-scale meteorological modeling was used. The output from WRF models will be used as meteorological input data in Calpuff model that used to examine the dispersion of air pollutant pattern in Surabaya City in wet and dry seasons. Simulation result using WRF models shows that in the dry season the wind moves from the east in the afternoon to evening which will cause air pollutants to move toward the west area of Surabaya City, while in the evening air pollutants will move eastward and then turn direction caused by the wind movement from the southeast toward the north and northwest of Surabaya City. In the wet season the wind moves from the northwest in the afternoon to evening which will cause air pollutants move to the southeast of Surabaya City, while at night until the morning air pollutants will move dominantly to the east of Surabaya City.
