Abstract

The aims of the study was to know: (1) the effectiveness of PBL Learning Model toward mathematic problem solution ability (2) the effectiveness of cooperative type TAI toward mathematic problem solution ability (3) the effect of differences PBL learning model and cooperative type TAI toward mathematic problem solution ability. This research of this study was quasi experiment with posttest only control design. The population of this study was all of seven grade students of SMPN 47 Batam in academic year 2016/2017. In this research used cluster random sampling. The subject of the research was consist of two classes, first experimental class VII2 and second experimental class VII1. The instrument of this study used to collecting the data was test ability mathematical problem solving. Test prerequisite covers normality test that used Kolmogorof Smirnov and homogeneity test that used Levene test. The conclusion was sample is come from population a normal distribution and have a variance of homogeny. Average equilibrium class sample test used test of two parties obtained both of class have a same initial ability. Testing hypothesis 1 and 2 used none sample t-test with significant degree 0,028 and 0,000 because lower than 0,05 so the PBL learning model and cooperative type TAI is effective toward mathematic problem solution ability students of VII class at SMP Negeri 47 Batam.
