Looking Ahead: Charting New Horizons in Intercultural Communication Theorizing

Abstract

We continue to explore current trends and future research directions in the second part of this special issue of the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research. Touching on the same five themes as the first part—engaging in theorizing, not theory; acknowledging identities and voices at the margins; questioning and resisting colonial legacies; prioritizing praxis and social engagement; and humanizing intercultural communication—we present five additional articles that address the value of intercultural communication theorizing. As we conclude this special issue, we offer theoretical and practical guidance for scholars, educators, and practitioners to strengthen and enrich their work through intercultural communication theorizing.
