Abstract

Technical, financial, and social challenges in resource-constrained environments impede the adoption of smart agriculture practices. A holistic framework, including hard and soft elements — as proposed in this work — enhances technology adoption and absorption rates. Low-cost, open-source, IoT solutions are effective and affordable means for higher efficiency and productivity in agriculture.
