Abstract
Only a few geographers, mainly those who are in the academy, know the work of the anarquist Elisée Reclus. With a very sharp language, Reclus managed to influentiate a big crowd, specially the social moviments that were happening at the time. Reclus who made a contribution to the science, even though he used a positivist approach that focused on the descriptions of the world from the most different geographical objects, proposed several topics that were different from those commons to his period, like the struggle of classes, the society's continuous moviment as a important subject in his science. The Social Geography, the colonization and the industrialization process were themes in which Reclus was able to contribute in a decisive manner to the geographical knowledge. With an original approach, Reclus formulated new concepts and approachs that till this day are used by geographers, specially the critic ones.
