Abstract

Surgical research has been often criticized for its over-dependence on observational studies (OSs) instead of stronger evidence of more scientifically rigorous randomized control trials (RCTs). This editorial calls for a change in our attitude against OSs and accord them their due respect in the hierarchy of evidence-based medicine.
