Abstract

In order to resolve both the problem of poverty and global environment, we should take informal settlements in developing countries as the frontline of learning and find solutions for such global issues. Here we report our design-build education composed of "short term workshop" and "long-stay architectural practice" towards the incremental improvement of an informal settlement in Jakarta, Indonesia.
