Abstract

Dr. Robert Tournier and Dr. Michael Ojovan found that the liquidus temperatures Tl of Ni60Pd20P20-y-xSiyBx glass formers, recently reported by us, are equal or close to the disappearance temperatures Tn+ of liquid medium-range order. In this letter we presented the repeated heating/cooling differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results of the alloys and demonstrated that the liquidus temperatures Tl of the off-eutectic alloys are closely related to the melting of the primary crystalline phases that have the highest melting temperatures in the alloys systems.
