Abstract
The article discusses methods to integrate the Internet information service Google Scholar into online academic libraries. The author examines whether Google Scholar degrades the quality of scholarship by enticing researchers away from sophisticated tools that librarians have developed or an introduction to library resources for unexperienced students. The challenges presented by Google Scholar to traditional librarian roles is detailed, as well as the benefits it can provide when used in conjunction with library services.
