Abstract

Introduction Achilles tendon is the largest and most powerful tendon in the whole body. It transfers very large, constantly repeated loads, which often results in injuries. Achilles tendon injuries can be treated both, by limb im-mobilization or surgically. The preferred surgical method is minimally invasive per-cutaneous suture. The procedure involves approximating the tendon stumps with a single-stranded Bunnel suture through the small incisions in the skin. This technique allows for rapid rehabilitation.
