PENERAPAN SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN DALAM TATA KELOLA PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH RIAU

Abstract

The world of education cannot be separated from the existence of libraries. The library is an important place for students and educators to find information about knowledge. The presence of technology must be able to be utilized by libraries to be able to improve library services and accessibility to library information. And in every university there is a library to provide learning facilities that aim to achieve the vision and mission in accordance with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this study is to determine how the application of management information systems used in public libraries. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this research are in the library management of Muhammadiyah Riau University, the head of the library is assisted by 3 managers who have been assigned each. The 3 managers consist of the book management section, the IT section, and the circulation / library services section. So it can be concluded that the existence of this information system-based library service management system is able to provide support for the implementation of library service activities ranging from registration, borrowing, returning, procurement, replacement to the preparation of library reports.
