Intervenções de enfermagem NIC de âmbito psicoterapêutico: Conversão em linguagem classificada CIPE® versão 2

Abstract

BACKGROUND: In Portugal, despite having already been conducted a study in order to identify NIC psychotherapeutic interventions, they have not yet been converted to ICNP® language. Thus, its parameterization in nursing information systems becomes unfeasible and, therefore, it is not possible for specialized nurses in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing (MHPN) to record its planning and execution. AIM: To convert nursing psychotherapeutic interventions integrated in the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) into ICNP® Version 2 standardized language. METHODS: A descriptive study using the Fehring method associated with the modifed e-Delphi method was carried out. A nonprobability sample of 21 MHPN experts was intentionally selected. To assess the degree of agreement with the conversion proposals, a Likert scale in which 1 = Strongly Disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree was used. RESULTS: No proposal for conversion of NIC psychotherapeutic interventions to ICNP® language got a perfect consensus among the experts’ panel. Conversion proposals such as “Assertive Behaviour Training,” “Promoting Self-Esteem” or “Impulse Control Training” achieved a high level of consensus (mean ≥0,80 and <1). Other conversion proposals, such as “Assisting the Individual at Minimising Relocation Stress” or “Hypnotising the Individual” presented a moderate level of consensus (mean >0.50 and <0.80). CONCLUSIONS: Eleven (11) proposals got a high level of consensus, while the remaining 19 presented moderate consensus. Hence, these seem to be interventions that are likely to be parameterized in nursing information systems.
