The success of onion cultivation is influenced by many factors, one of which is the provision and selection of the right fertilizer. Appropriate fertilization of plants, both the time of administration and the type, the more effective it is for the growth and development of plants. Fertilization aims to maintain soil nutrients in shallot plants, inorder to avoid pests and diseases soas to get more optimal yields. The application of fertilizer with the timing and type of plant components in this study combines the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. Determination of the weights on the criteria begins with the application of the Analytical Hierarchy Process AHP, while the ranking is done using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The results obtained from this study are effective fertilizers for onion cultivation, five alternatives have been determined, namely: Npk Mutiara, Kcl, Urea, Sp-36 and ZA. Of the five alternatives, Npk Mutiara 16:16:16 placed first with a preference value of 0.839, the second place was ZA fertilizer with a value of 0.663. So from the results of this study, the authors recommend effective fertilizers for onion cultivation in Demak district, namely Npk Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer and ZA fertilizer.
