Abstract
Four subtidal transects were sampled in Algoa Bay. Callianassa kraussi and C. gilchrist; were recorded from the sheltered south-western shores of the bay. The contribution of these two species to total macrofaunal and crustacean biomass is given for the King's Beach transect. The factors affecting the distribution of these species in Algoa Bay are discussed.
