Abstract

The development of a Software Engineering curriculum must take into account international criteria and recommendations as professionals must be trained for both the national and international markets. The present work shows the experience of implementation of a curriculum in the undergraduate program of Ingeniería de Sistemas of the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, Arequipa - Peru. The curriculum applied the recommendations of the ACM for Software Engineering Programs SE2004, in addition the ABET Accreditation criteria, opinions of representatives of the national and international industry and experiences of other Software Engineering programs already accredited were considered. This new curriculum was implemented as of 2013 and we currently have 2 promotions of students graduated in 2018. We highlight the difficulties encountered and the results obtained from the implementation of the curriculum.
