Abstract

Four new acylated phenylethanoid oligoglycosides, kankanosides J 1 (1), J2 (2), K1 (3), and K2 (4), were isolated from stems of Cistanche tubulosa (Orobanchaceae) together with isocampneoside I (5). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence. Among them, 3-5 were found to inhibit D-galactosamine-induced cytotoxicity in primary cultured mouse hepatocytes.
