Abstract
The World Ocean Circulation Experiment, the largest global oceanographic program ever mounted, has almost completed its field phase. Data are now being made available to researchers for synthesis activities. This article is designed to introduce oceanographers, meteorologists, and climate investigators to the existence of this important, and increasing, data resource and to encourage them to use it.
