Lombalgias

Abstract

Low-back pain is reviewed in its main concepts, classifications, etiologies and epidemiological variables. The main differences between acute and chronic low-back pain with and without sciatica are described, as well the main factors related to its clinical, laboratorial and imagenologic diagnoses. The main modalities of pharmacological, physical and surgical treatments are described, stressing their indications and possible results. This review was done based on published guidelines, randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
