Abstract

Yttrium sulfide disks have been prepared by sintering. The electrical conductivity has been measured from 973 K to 1223 K and pressures from 10** minus **4 to 10**2. Yttrium sulfide is a pure electronic conductor. The pressure dependence is attributed to the predominance of fully ionized yttrium interstitials and vacancies.
