Abstract

Metastatic cancer is the result of the spread of the primary tumor to other areas, the main symptomatology is pain, whose nature can be somatic, visceral, or neuropathic. This pain is multifactorial, requiring integrated and personalized management. In which pharmacological therapy, starting from NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs), along with adjuvant therapies and local procedures, to opioids with the aim of providing essential relief. However, pain assessment is not just clinical; Psychosocial, economic, and ethical dimensions are also assessed. Accurate valuation using specialized tools is crucial. Despite therapeutic advances, challenges such as refractory pain, drug interactions, and access to care remain. This work underscores the importance of research, education, and awareness to improve the well-being of patients with metastatic cancer, taking an interdisciplinary approach to their care.
