Abstract

The egg, all larval instars and pupa of Protaetia fusca (Herbst), the mottled flower scarab, are described and notes on its biology are presented. The third instar larva is distinguished from those of Eupoecila australasiae (Donovan) and Diaphonia dorsalis Donovan, the only other Australian cetoniines for which larval descriptions are available.
