Abstract
The paper addresses the relationship between the cooperatives and young people and, more specifically, between some principles of cooperatives and youth. It highlights the relations between one cooperative value and young people, although it can be considered that this is the value which has a direct link with young people: democracy. The different identity of the cooperative stands out from other forms of corporation because they own democracy in their DNA. Thus, democracy shines like a predicable value not only in managing or controlling the cooperative enterprise, but democracy also spreads to all aspects of members' life in society and the community to which members belong. This value should be an attractive turn to approach young people to cooperative world.
