Abstract

A species of Marssonina associated with leaf spots on Celastrus orbiculatus is studied. It seems that this fungus has previously been referred to Septogloeum thomasianum, but on account of its holoblastic conidiogenesis and transversely one-septate conidia, it belongs to the genus Marssonina and is described and illustrated as Marssonina celastri sp. nov.
