Extramammary paget’s disease

Abstract

Extramammary Paget’s disease is a rare malignant neoplasm that occurs in women. It arises from apocrine glan-bearing skin cells or manifestation of adjacent primary anal, rectal or bladder adenocarcinoma. A visible lesion is typically erythematous plaque occuring in external genitalia, which mimicks dermatology lesions. However due to its slow growth rate, it may cause delayed diagnosis then consequently worsen prognosis. Here, we present case of 46 year old woman with persistent reddish plaque in vulvar area for 1 year. The lesion was mimicking fungal infection that she received treatment from dermatologist. Biopsy result was extramammary Paget’s disease. Patient received further biopsy lesion to determine the malignant area and then continue with a wide local excision with keystone flap. Patient has routinely control to plastic surgeon clinic for further wound care.
