Abstract

In this paper, a real-life renewable energy-based system is considered and the reliability function of this system is evaluated with the help of Universal Generating Function technique. The renewable energy-based system is considered from the project in Germany where the wind turbine and hydro power plant are combined. The wind turbines are set at the top of the hills and the reservoirs are allowed to filled with river water. This paper presents a renewable energy-based system where the wind turbine and hydro power plant are combined together to produce electricity in bulk. Universal generating function technique is used to obtain the reliability function of the proposed system. Also tail signature, signature, expected cost rate, expected lifetime and Barlow- Proschan Index are estimated.
