Solar still is a promising alternative to current desalination technologies owing to its inexpensive operation. Here, we investigate on polystyrene insulation used in single slope passive solar still to achieve high performance at different feed flowrates. Theoretical models and experiments are utilized to determine heat transfer coefficients and still efficiency. Results showed that decreasing feed flowrates increases the still efficiency due to the high water-glass temperature difference. A noticeable increase in the evaporative coefficient is also observed at low feed rates.
