Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that can improve understanding of values fundamentally and is important for elementary school students to learn. Mathematics material in learning is abstract which is difficult for students to understand. So the role of the teacher is very important in providing mathematics material. However, the existence of Covid-19 has made it difficult for teachers and students in learning mathematics because they are required to study from home or online. Difficulties in learning mathematics in students can be caused by several internal and external factors. This study aims to determine the condition of students who do not receive maximum mathematics learning during the pandemic. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were 1 class V teacher and 5 parents of class V students at SDN 2 Sukamenak. The research data was conducted through interview techniques. The results of this study were found that students' learning difficulties during online learning could be broken down into 4 aspects, namely: 1) The online learning process carried out, 2) Availability of learning media needed during the covid-19 pandemic, 3) Utilization of technology, online media, applications learning, as well as the internet, and 4) Student learning assistance. So that the difficulty of students in learning mathematics online is not only due to the limitations of smartphones and internet networks, but another factor that causes students to have difficulty learning mathematics online is the absence of assistance when learning mathematics.
