Abstract
The foliicolous lichen Strigula kaitokensis Sérusiaux & Polly is described as new from New Zealand. It is characterized by its large and expanding involucrellum that causes secondary aggregation of individual perithecia. Mucoid appendages are present at both ends of ascospores.
