Estrutura organizacional e equipes de trabalho: estudo da mudança organizacional em quatro grandes empresas industriais

Abstract

O artigo apresenta uma pesquisa realizada em quatro empresas industriais sobre as mudanças em sua estrutura organizacional e a formação das equipes de trabalho. A metodologia da pesquisa teve caráter exploratório e descritivo em face da escassez de trabalhos empíricos sobre o tema no Brasil. A conclusão da pesquisa revela que as equipes de trabalho têm sido fundamentais no novo projeto estrutural dos anos 90, particularmente com relação à questão da flexibilidade do processo produtivo. O artigo aborda também outros aspectos levantados na pesquisa, tais como a cultura organizacional, o layout e o comportamento da gerência.This paper reports on a research carried out at four large manufacturers regarding changes in their organizational structures and the formation of work teams. The structural changes that have been wrought in these organizations are complex and understanding their depth and scope requires much effort and detailed analysis. Upon completion, the research revealed that work teams have a been vital factor in the design of the new organizational structure of the 90s, particularly insofar as the issue of production flexibility is concerned. This report also discusses other significant aspects uncovered by the research that significantly affect successful organizational changes, such as organizational culture, layout and the attitude of management.
