Abstract

A method is proposed for retrieving images from a database using an index color. It is based on a new method for automatically picking index color in images. This method can be used to represent an effect similar to looking at the most several index colors instead of original images. The index color for an image is selected by collecting the colors and picking noticeable one. A method is also proposed for retrieving images as using index colors. This method is very useful, because we can retrieve images based on our impression of images as represented by index colors.
