Abstract
The political discourse that prevails in Catalonia has endorsed the idea that citizens have a »right to decide». This right can be understood in a strong sense, as the right to decide Catalonia's secession from Spain, or in a weak sense, as the right of citizens to be heard with regard to this issue. There are no convincing reasons, however, to support the existence of such a right.
